Reading With Our PreK-4 Friends

We've started a new activity in our room: reading with our PreK-4 friends! I was quite proud of my class for being so kind and welcoming in their conversations with the preschoolers. They can't wait to have our friends back in two weeks! Enjoy the pictures below and the comments your children had about their experience.

PreK-4 A.M. Class
Jayden reads The Circus Ship to Peyton and Layna.

Logan and Jackson buddy up to read Hog-Eye.

Jack reads While the World is Sleeping to his friend Will.

Gibson likes the dog's funny "frog face" in the story City Dog, Country Frog Brayden reads to him and helps Brayden flip the pages.

Emily and Maggie curl up to read When I Grow Up, a funny story by Al Yankovic. Emily shares the story If I Were a Tree next. "Maggie is a really great listener," comments Emily.

Cayla reads with much expression My Name is Yoon and Ant and Grasshopper to Addison and Nora.

Claire and Cloe get cozy reading Martha Walks the Dog together. Claire says, "Cloe's really fun!"

 PreK-4 P.M. Class
Brayden reads The Sea of Sleep and City Dog, Country Frog to Dean and Eli. Then Brayden learns just how much little boys like to move around and explore when he takes them around the classroom and shows them his desk, textbooks, and pencil box.

Emily enjoys all of Kylie's "really good questions about the story."
Emily gives Kylie a tour of the classroom. "Kylie was very interested in the room," says Emily.

Claire and Cayla pair up to read to Austin. Once they discover he likes alligators, they find the perfect story for him- Keeper of the Swamp! "He's the best listener!" exclaim the girls.

Jayden reads the thrilling story of Jumanji to her new friend, London. "London made me laugh! I really like her!" says Jayden with a smile.

Logan and Louie read Hog-Eye (above) and Dr. Suess's Oh, the Places You Will Go (below) together. Logan says, "It was fun!"

Jack and Jack had quite a lot more in common than just their names. They soon found out they both like to read about space! "He was pretty fun!" says Jack.

Jack leads little Jack around the classroom to show him what we do in third and fourth grade. Little Jack was very curious about our on-going Boys vs. Girls Scrabble game so Jack taught him how to play.
