Weekly Social Studies Report
Directions:
Keep this paper in your folder so you can use it each week for your Current Events report. Answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper using complete sentences. You will have Wednesday to Wednesday (one week) to work on this assignment either at home or during your free time at school. I will not assign you a specific time to work on this; it will be your responsibility to finish it on your own time. Every Wednesday morning, we’ll have a discussion time to share what we’ve found in our research.

Questions to help you write your report:
3rd & 4th Grade must answer:
1.      Give the title (always capitalize all important words of a title and put it in quotations) and the author of your article.
2.      Give the name of the website, magazine, book, or newspaper where you found your article and bring it to share with the class.
3.      Tell us if your event happened historically (in the past) or is it current (happening now).
4.      Give a summary (short description answering the Who? What? Where? When? How? questions) about the article you have selected.
JUST 4th Grade must answer:
5.      Do you think this event is a national event (affecting only one country) or a global event (affecting our whole world)? Explain why you think this.
6.      What was the cause? What was the effect? What do you think will happen next?
7.      Finish this sentence: This is event is similar to…

8.      Finish your report by telling us your reaction to the event.
