3rd & 4th Grade Lead Chapel With A Skit On Honesty

     Yesterday in our chapel service, our 3^rd & 4^th graders performed a skit to share a message on honesty. Cayla Wilderman starred as Tommy, a boy who lies to his friend Alex (played by Logan DiRosa) and then continues building on his lies to cover up his dishonesty. In the end, Tommy learns that sins can’t cover up other sins—only Jesus’ forgiveness can do that. He asks forgiveness of those he wronged and receives it because of God’s grace and mercy in sending His son to take our sin. The children did a wonderful job memorizing their lines and acting their parts. I’m proud of them for sharing God’s message in this way. Thank you to all who joined our chapel service yesterday.

“Field Day” Field Trip Reminder

Just a reminder that our class has our “Field Day” field trip at Metro-East Lutheran High School in Edwardsville tomorrow—Tuesday, September 24^th. The high school is located at 6305 Center Grove Road right next to Edwardsville High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m. so we will leave Saint Paul’s at 8:45 a.m. Our day will wrap up about 1:30 p.m. and we’ll head back to Saint Paul’s. Our drivers/chaperones (Karen Kilzer, John Fischer, Natalie Carlson, and JoAnn Kesterson) are welcome to join us in the classroom for a short devotion before we leave at 8:45 a.m. I have money from all children wishing to purchase a lunch. If your child elected to bring a lunch, please remind them to do so. Our lunch break will only be 15 minutes long, but the children can eat at any point in which they’re not competing. Please have your child wear the white/red/black Tiger Invitational T-shirt (each child should own one at this point) with athletic pants or shorts. It will be chilly in the morning so I recommend they dress in layers.

We’re looking forward to our trip! Thank you to those who have offered to drive and chaperone.
